This Erosion series emerges from the Bay itself, as salt water, weather and time together erode boat hulls into singularly compelling, organic layers of texture, shape and color. I comb marinas looking for worn workboats, eclectic houseboats, and dilapidated craft, then intently scour the decaying paint, fiberglass and rust for visually striking, evocative compositions. I create macro (or close-up) photographs from this disrepair, once optimal lighting allows me to draw out the complex surface textures there.
